RE: Itasca winterizing manual doesn't match coach

At least on your ice maker all you have to do is drain the line ....the ice maker portion is designed to freeze....run pink stuff up to your shut off valve.

RE: Got to be a scam

We have been surfing for a new used diesel and I have seen quit a few low prices on newer units. I think the fuel prices are causing those who can afford to take a big loss to just dump their units.
If they can afford the big loss, then why can't they afford the gas?.....seems to me some people are waking up to the reduced demand and still wanting to move their coach....so lower prices.

RE: Oh my back! Please help!

We may just go with the memory foam for now. My wife just does not like sleeping on an air mattress and I can't see paying that much ($300) for what seems like just an deluxe air mattress.
the air mattress is a direct replacement and is not like sleeping on a air bed....more akin to a sleep number bed but not quite as sophisticated.

Air Dream Mattress from FlexSteel
This is your answer....Yes the foam memory topper will fold up in the bed but the air mattress is better.....My son now has the memory topper on his bed.

RE: QUOTE FROM PROGRESSIVE $350 W/ROAD SERVICE

They lived up to their name, every year they "progressively" raised their rates!! The kicker was when I got a broken windshield on the Jeep, called them and asked what it would cost going through them, they ABSOLUTELY refused to give the info out till I said (as coached by the rep.) "I want to file a claim", then they gave me the info which was double the $$ of not going through them. Then I found out that they took away my claim free status and raised my rates for the "claim" that never cost them a ยข! So I went looking for new insurance and found that they were reporting the "claim" to any ins co that inquired about my record! I called the State Ins Com., they said it wasn't illegal but was a very questionable tactic. Now have GMAC and just got the renewal, they took away our full replacement on the MH and gave us just purchase price. That full coverage was one of the reason I liked GMAC. Tried AARP, they came in at about $1,200 a yr MORE than GMAC for the same coverage. Guess we'll stay with GMAC for now.
I know coverages are different in each state but you might want to try Farm and City....They just took 500.00 off my yearly premium.
I was rear ended a couple of years ago by someone who had progressive....they were the best insurance claims department I have ever had to deal with.

RE: Need info on shower faucet replacement

One of the first things I did was replace my shower with a standard one from Homedepot for the same reasons you mention....solved the hot cold problem but not the Navy shower problem.

RE: Design issue on rear heater Fleetwood 39S

The Furnace is mounted under the bathroom sink and the circuit board is open and exposed to what ever may fall down...like any little drips of water that could fall off the sink or plumbing.
Isn't there a cover on the furnace protecting the board (and controlling the air flow)? I guess I don't understand how any little drips can get to the board.
I think the real issue would be why there is any moisture getting below the sink.
If the counter is sealed to the wall/back-splash and the plumbing is sealed properly, there should be no water breeching the furnace.
My concern also. You shouldn't have ANY water from the sink inside the vanity. If there is enough getting in to destroy 2 boards I think it is more than an occasional drip.
The board is not covered by anything and have no protection what so ever....the amount of water was obviously very small...maybe a cover was omitted and others will not have the same problem but it didn't look like it.....I'm not worried about the source of the water, when I remodel this winter I will dismantle and reseal but if others have the same set up I do; prudence requires some action to be taken to protect a hundred dollar circuit board.
Conformal coating is used on circuit boards to seal them. It will protect the board but I think you would be better off finding out where the water is coming from.
I don't know what conformal coating is, but my board looks like any other I've seen and corroded from what appears to be a few drops of water.... had the same issue up front where condensation from air conditioning ruined the automatic locks board.....225.00 from Fleetwood ....had to relocate the unit to avoid the problem again.

RE: Design issue on rear heater Fleetwood 39S

It wouldn't take much....some adults and children can splash pretty good so any slight leak could be a problem....there is also a condensation possibility.....the amount on the circuit board was not very much, but then it didn't take much to render it useless.

Design issue on rear heater Fleetwood 39S

I just installed my second igniter board on my Atwood furnace. I had a dealer repair my furnace last year (they are now out of business) and the problem was the circuit board. The furnace didn't work last weekend so I took out the board to have a look and noticed the back side was totally corroded. The Furnace is mounted under the bathroom sink and the circuit board is open and exposed to what ever may fall down...like any little drips of water that could fall off the sink or plumbing. My new board arrived today and everything works....I fashioned a protective cover for the top of the circuit board so I hope this is the last one for a while.....anyone who has the 39S might want to check their furnace...you might be able to avert a problem down the road.

RE: Toilet is completely cracked

I would bet that the floor around the toilet was not flat and level so the installer compensated by tightening it down a little more...then too much stress

RE: Gas vs DP roadability

I am sure this has been addressed before, please forgive me for asking again. I have a 31 foot F-53 V-10. I live in Florida the home of the grooved interstate. It seems that every second is spent trying to keep in the lane . The question is would a DP be easier to control? Or be more stable in the wind or being passed by a truck. Maybe it's me. I have driven the new Sprinter based C . They drive well and are stable but small.
Wayne & BJ
2004 Trek
I put the ride rite air bags, Bilstien shocks, and the steer safe on my F53.....it was longer than yours (35ft) but it did ride better than my current DP on the Spartan chassis. I was at my GVWR so the ride wasn't as hard as some F53 owners complain about. It did track straight and trucks or wind were not noticed. My DP rides smooth enough but wind is a factor....just not enough to get me to spend the money right now on a Blue Ox True Center.

RE: interesting people at the Hershey RV Show- long :-)

CC has a video on the website showing the veranda operating. I love the part when the announcer says you can hangout with all your neighbors but "above and away" from them. I'm picturing tossing coins to the poor, little people.

RE: How old our your tires?

6 Years old, having them checked once a year now. Getting two opinions from trusted tire agents.
When you have them checked do they take them off and look or just an external check?

RE: Fallout

My guess/feeling/opinion is that about 90% of the home owners have no mortgage or have the resources to pay their mortgage because they purchased a reasonable home for themselves and their income. All the noise, bailout and economic impact/mess is because the other 10% did wrong and the government wants to bail them out/pay for their mistakes and the mistakes of others (the bankers, builders and gross speculators).
We that did right will pay (via a tax/job loss/etc.) for the mistakes of others.
PS: If the price of fuel had remained the same, we would have the same housing mess.
The price of oil has a much greater impact on our economy than just the fuel we use....Industry is greatly impacted....our economy took the hit because oil went through the roof.....the housing mess is a symptom of a root cause....if peoples disposable income had remained unchanged they would have serviced their debts and the housing market would continue....Consumers with disposable income drove the prices on the housing market.

RE: Fallout

I don't think it is the price of fuel that is affecting the rv market near as much as the housing market. The source of funding many use, pulling equity money out of their houses is no more. Many now ower more money on their houses than what they are worth. Especially if they bought during the height of the market price surge. Homes are not selling, so those that would sell their home to go fulltiming in the later years of their lives are now still in those unsold homes. I think that is why the motorhome market is being affected much more than the other types.
And what affects the price of housing if not the price of fuel? This is the root cause for many ills.

RE: Stinky smell coming from washer/dryer combo

If your washer/dryer is a Splendide, you might want to check the lint filter. If it has been a while since you cleaned it, and you haven't used the washer for a while, "things" could be growing in the filter.
I agree with the thoughts abut an empty "P" trap. Run a wash cycle with hot water and bleach after you clean the filter.
I hope you find the problem.
Where is the lint filter???....didn't even know it had one.
